"Closer to Free" is a 1993 song by the US band The BoDeans featured in their fifth album, Go Slow Down. It is the band's biggest hit, having peaked at #16 on the U.S Billboard Hot 100 chart after it's re-release single in 1996, having drawn an audience among adults contemporary fans. It was featured as the theme for the TV series Party of Five, and was featured in the show's accompanying soundtrack. It also appeared in the 1995 film, Heavyweights.
